Edmond

Scott Paul, age 52 years, 5 months, 30 days of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on 28 September 2025. Scott was born in Oklahoma City on 29 March 1973 and was baptized as an infant at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City, OK by Pastor Quiram in April 1973. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church on Pentecost Sunday, 7 June 1987 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas by Pastor Keith Johnson.

**Confirmation verse: Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Scott is survived by his wife Sara and his beloved son Levi. Scott and Sara were married for 20 years in May of this year. He is also survived by his parents Dennis and Rita Paul of Edmond OK; his brother David and his wife Becky Paul of Phoenix and their sons Colin and Preston Paul, and Blake and Trent Blahuta. In-Laws, Lee and Linda Young and Sara’s brothers and families; Eric and Erin Young with son Elijah, Mathew and Rachel Young and their children, Lydia, Jacob, Anna and James Young. He is also survived by numerous Aunts and Uncles, cousins and friends.

Scott moved with his family, as Dennis Paul was reassigned through various Air Force postings. He moved to Germany, Arizona, and landed in Texas. Scott graduated from High School at Taft High School in San Antonio, Texas, Class of 1991. After he graduated from High School, Scott did 3 semesters at Southwest Texas in San Marcos which is now called Texas State University. College was not for Scott though, and after parachuting out of his first plane, he decided to enlist in the Army on 7 January 1993. Scott spent just shy of 10 years in the Army and traveled to many different places in the United States and throughout the world including Panama, Korea, Japan, Australia, Fort Benning, Fort Campbell, and Alaska. He finished his Army career by completing the Army Ranger School and then decided to separate from the Army. He returned to his last duty station in Alaska and joined a friend’s family business and roofed new houses. Scott was introduced to his future wife by his Dad at a Christmas Eve service in 2000 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Edmond, OK. In 2003, Scott and Sara started talking because she was at his parents house to get Calculus tutoring from his Dad. Travel brought them together and they were able to schedule a trip to Florida. They had a long distance relationship for over a year before Scott and his friend Shawn made a 72 hour drive from Wasilla, Alaska to Edmond, Oklahoma. Scott proposed on 4 December 2004 under the new Bell Tower at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and they were married there on 14 May 2005.

Scott and Sara started life together full of joy, travel, friends and family. They were able to start their own family and had Levi Dominic on 18 May 2012. Scott was an attentive dad and adoring father to Levi and was so proud of all of Levi’s accomplishments. They enjoyed traveling and visited various domestic destinations like the North Carolina Outer Banks, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas, Georgia, Delaware, Rhode Island, and New York. They were also able to introduce Levi to international destinations like Germany, Vatican City, Italy, and France. Scott was active at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Edmond Ok. He spent 18 years at Mid-Del Public Schools in various IT roles before becoming the Director of Technology at Deer Creek Public Schools for the last 2 years. He enjoyed the complexities of the role and the challenge of keeping up with ever changing technology. He loved football on the weekends, watching his son do karate and archery. He could always find someone to talk to, and he made friends with strangers on all of his various travels for work and play.

As a Lutheran family, we know that Scott was marked and claimed by Jesus at his Baptism and Confirmation and we know that God called him home to Heaven much sooner than we would have liked. Scott is at Peace now and no longer in any mental or physical pain. Sara, Levi and the rest of Scott’s family know that we will see him again someday in Heaven at the end.

Scott bravely served his country in the military. Afterwards he quietly battled challenges. In lieu of flowers and - in his memory - please donate to a Veterans support group in his name, Sgt Scott Paul US Army.
