Sharon Ann Mayfield
1940-2024
On April 24, 2024 Sharon Ann Mayfield, 83, of Edmond, OK, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family.
The graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at 13400 N. Kelly Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131 on Tuesday, April 30 th at 11:00 am. Viewing will be at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK 73003 on Monday, April 29 th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Sharon was born in Oklahoma City to M.B. and Lorene Cooper. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City and Central State College with a Bachelors in Education. Sharon married Rev. Neal Mayfield in 1963. She shared in the ministry working in churches in Oklahoma and Texas. Sharon retired from the City of Edmond after 26 years.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by daughters Michelle, Angie, and Amy, her sister Gwen, niece Kelley, nephew K.C.
Sharon was devoted to her granddaughter Elizabeth and her three great grandchildren, Gage, Emma, and Malcolm.
Sharon was a long-time member of Waterloo Road Baptist Church and a devoted prayer warrior. She attended church on-line when she could no longer attend in person. The people of Waterloo Road Baptist Church regularly visited Sharon, making her very happy.
Sharon was kind, hardworking, and gave everything to her family.
