Shawn Dae Terry, 42, passed away on February 10, 2026.
Shawn was born on November 30, 1983, in Fort Worth and grew up in Ardmore. He earned his master’s degree in Public Relations from Full Sail University before building a career in IT with MAC Energy. He took pride in his work and especially enjoyed his window office at the BancFirst building downtown.
Shawn loved the outdoors, especially camping, and had a passion for 3D printing and creating new things through technology.
Above all, Shawn was a loving father who cared deeply for his children and valued the time he spent with them. His presence and love will remain with them always.
He is survived by his wife, Lauren Terry; his children, Kelsey Terry, Kilynn Hammons, and Miles Terry; his bonus children, Haivynn-Marie Freeman and Aubree Freeman; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Terry.
He will be remembered and missed by those who knew and loved him.
Life Lessons – Joanna Fuchs
You may have thought I didn’t see,
Or that I hadn’t heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.
Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we’d grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It’s written on my heart.
Without you, Dad, I wouldn’t be
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.
I’ve grown up with your values,
And I’m very glad I did;
So here’s to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.
