1970 – 2019

Sidney Arlon Ellis, III, was born February 18, 1970 and departed us October 19, 2019. He was born to and raised by young, vibrant and loving parents, Carol Jane Hardesty (Janie) and Sidney Arlon Jr. (Sid). He was always a people person and after detaching himself from his mother's leg, he became a sweet son, a caring brother to his little sister, and a fun and good friend to many. Most remember Sidney for his strong wit and sense of humor. He was great at bringing the funny to any situation and loved to make people laugh. He was intelligent with a logical mind and enjoyed learning new things. He was an avid reader and loved books. He attended Western Oaks Elementary and Junior High and Putnam City West High School where he played baseball through his Sophomore year. He loved planes and after building many models, he decided he wanted to fly them and majored in Aviation at Oklahoma State. Opting for less lofty pursuits, he nonetheless soared, winning several awards for top in sales while selling Health Insurance for Reserve National throughout the state of Oklahoma.

His greatest love in life and without a doubt his most proud accomplishment is his dear and wonderful son, Hayden. They were more than father and son; they were pals. They loved games together, throwing ball together, playing frisbee together, spotting stars and watching meteor showers together, working on computers together, watching movies together, and just being together.

Sidney will be missed by many loving friends and family. He is survived by his mother, Janie Burns, his son, Hayden Ellis, and his sister, Amber Ellis Peterson.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 23 at 3:45 P.M. at Freewill Baptist Church, 4306 Jordan Avenue, Edmond, OK.
