Stanley Shatos

Stanley Ralph Shatos, Jr. of Oklahoma City passed away on July 10, 2013. Stanley was born in Orange, Massachusetts on August 24, 1942 to the late Stanley & Pauline Shatos. He lived in various places, primarily, Massachusetts then in Rosamond, California before retiring. Stanley served his country in a variety of ways. He was a proud member of the Air Force and also a long time civil servant working for the Federal Government. He also served his local community in Granby, Massachusetts as a police officer. During his lifetime he was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Kiwanis and the American Legion. Stanley loved traveling. Camping and fishing were favorite activities that he did often throughout his life. After retirement, he and his longtime wife, Phyllis, traveled the country, coast to coast, several times in their RV, exploring, fishing, visiting family and friends, seeing the sights and enjoying being together. He was preceded in death by his mother & father; brother, Peter Shatos; sister, Sally Hickey; and son, Steven Shatos. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis Shatos; sister, Pamela Bouthillier and husband Armand; two children, Cynthia Massey and Kandi Jones and her husband Todd; six grandchildren, Cherie and her husband Shawn, Melissa, Kacy, Dustin, Ardyn and Ryann; six great grandchildren, Justin, William, Piper, Savannah, Emily and Christina; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Massachusetts where Stanley will be laid to rest in the place he called home
