Stephen Cromar Hintze

1958-2019

Stephen Cromar Hintze, 61, passed away on November 22, 2019 surrounded by family after a short swift battle with lung cancer.

He was born May 13, 1958 to Lois and Milton Hintze. He grew up in Oklahoma City, and graduated from Putnam City Original. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to British Columbia, Canada. Afterward, he attended Brigham Young University where he met and married Denise Weaver Hintze.

Stephen and Denise went on to have 3 children, Jessica, Alan, and Mark. He worked many different jobs to support and provide for his family. He spent the most time working for Capital West Securities and most recently Mustang Fuel.

An avid lover of cars, Stephen most notably loved Porsches. He served on the board of the local chapter of the Porsche club. He was known within the club for the fall foliage drives he would organize each year.

Church service was also a hallmark of Stephen's life. He served in many capacities with The Church. He spent 5 years serving as the Bishop of the Village Ward, a local congregation in Oklahoma City. His time as Bishop had a strong focus on strengthening the youth (ages 12 to 18) and helping their testimonies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ grow stronger.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Denise Hintze, his children, Jessica (Adam) Jeppson, Alan (Brianna) Hintze and Mark (Cheyanne) Hintze, and his 7 and 2/3 grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Elizabeth Thompson and Karren Hall.
