1937-2021

Yvonne Woolsey, 84, of Edmond, Oklahoma died at her home on July 3, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was born January 13, 1937 near Ozark, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Chancey and Ina Wolden Chancey, brother Jack Chancey and sister Brenda Chancey Honey.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Denver Woolsey, daughters Melanie Bryan and husband Robert, and Lisa Brown and husband Nathan. She is also survived by grandchildren Julie Brown Mahanay, Alexandra Bryan, Kristen Bryan and Jeffrey Brown; great-grandchildren Dylan Pemberton and Alden Mahanay; sister Wilma Chancey Schuler and husband Wayne; brothers Bennie Chancey and wife Carolyn, and Grady Chancey, Jr. and wife Ermel Lee. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was always actively involved with her family, her church and her community. She graduated with honors from Ozark High School and attended Arkansas Tech and the University of Central Oklahoma. However, she was a Razorback at heart and Life Member of the Arkansas Alumni Association. She was a hospital volunteer for 25 years, a Girl Scout Leader, and an active member (and past president) of the Salvation Army Women's Auxillary.

She and Denver were longtime members of the Early Ford V-8 Club of America and enjoyed traveling to V-8 meets across the country. Yvonne was particularly proud of her 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible, which she helped to restore.

Her memorial service will be at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 2700 S. Boulevard, Edmond, OK 73013 at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17.
