1937-2020

Teddy Ray Hollis, 82, of Arcadia, Oklahoma, passed away on January 19, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Ted was born to parents Joseph Clark and Millie Emily Hollis, on January 22, 1937, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Ted served in the USAF from 1954-1958 and was a B-52 engine mechanic. Ted joined the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 1961 and retired in 1999 with 38 years of service. Ted was a member of the Waterloo Road Church of Christ. Ted was a proud member of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).

Ted is survived by daughter Deborah K. Moore husband Michael D. Moore of Midwest City, Oklahoma, son Curtis W. Hollis wife Cara D. Hollis of Hobbs, New Mexico, son Steven R. Hollis wife Christine K. Hollis of Arcadia, Oklahoma, as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Ted was predeceased by parents Joseph Clark and Millie Emily Hollis, wife Shirley Ann Hignett, sister Millie Jo Snow and grandson Bryan Dean Moore.

Ted was known for his love of traveling, researching family genealogy, and visiting with all his family and friends scattered across our great nation. Ted was very well known for his occasional tendencies to argue scriptures, specifications and oh yes even politics, just to name a few. It was also said that Ted would argue with a fence post.

Memorial service is February 19, 2020 at 10:00 am
