Thomas Michael Kuntz
February 5, 1945 – October 31, 2021
Thomas "Tom" Michael Kuntz, loving husband and father, passed away in his home on October 31, 2021 at the age of 76.
Tom was born on February 5, 1945 in Menominee, Michigan. The son of Clara and Andy Kuntz. Tom grew up in Larned, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State with a degree in Architecture and a Masters in Land Use and Urban Planning. Tom completed one tour of duty in Viet Nam with the US Army Corps of Engineers and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.
Professionally, Tom was a city planner for several cities including Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Blue Springs, Missouri, and Farmington, New Mexico. Tom also worked as a planner for Benham in Oklahoma City.
With his first wife, Janet, Tom had three children: a daughter, Katherine, and two sons, Aaron and Nathan. Tom remarried and celebrated 26 years of marriage with Shirley. They have eight grandchildren.
Tom was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved cycling, mountain biking, and fishing. He enjoyed grilling and craft beers while cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats or the Kansas City Chiefs.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Kuntz; his daughter, Katherine Roper and her husband, Steve Roper; his son, Aaron Kuntz and his wife, Keesha Kuntz; his son, Nathan Kuntz; his stepson, Jon Siskey and his wife, Tiffany Siskey; his stepson, Justin Siskey; his brother, Andy Kuntz. and his sister-in-law, Julia Kuntz; and grandchildren, Olivia Siskey, Jillian Siskey, Joseph Siskey, Erin Roper, Samuel Roper, William Roper, Addie Kuntz, and Emma Kuntz.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 308 NW 164 th Street, Edmond, Oklahoma.
