Thurman “Dale” Drain age 85, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on May 13, 2026.

Dale was born on September 24, 1940 in Shidler, Oklahoma to W.C. Drain and Katherine Mae Drain. He faithfully served as pastor of Calvary Temple in Edmond, Oklahoma. In June of 2019, Dale and his wife founded Bridge of Hope World Missions where they spread the love of Christ throughout South America and the Philippines. Dale often spoke of their work in the church and mission field. He believed in the salvation of Christ and cherished this work and every person he ministered to.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. Drain and Katherine Drain; his son Michael Dale Drain, his daughter, Kristion Marie Drain, his sister Dorothy Mains, his brothers, Gene Drain and Edgar Drain as well as his grandson Christian Drain.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cris Drain; his daughter Laurie Brown and husband Ricky Alexander, his daughter Shelly Peterson and husband Marty Peterson, his daughter Corie Ellerbee, and his son Josh Drain and wife Jackie Drain. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with family present to greet friends and guests, at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Great Faith Church, located at 8921 Northwest Expressway, Suite 500, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, located at 7500 W. Britton Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
