Tina was born on September 11, 1969, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Dennis Wayne John and Patricia Ann John. She grew up in Moore, Oklahoma, but spent most of her life in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
On May 23, 1989, Tina married the love of her life, Scott Wittmeyer. They shared 36 wonderful years together. In 1994, their daughter Alyssa was born. Together, they built a home rooted in faith, family, and love. Becoming “Nana” to Leif and Greer was one of the most cherished chapters of her life. Her love for them was boundless, and she treasured each moment spent with them.
Tina graduated from Moore High School in 1987, where she met her best friends, Lorey Gregg and Benita Edwards. After high school, she moved back to Thomas, Oklahoma. Tina spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, fully devoted to raising Alyssa. Later in life, she chose to continue her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 2018. She spent the last several years of her life as a devoted and passionate teacher.
Tina is survived by her loving husband, Scott Wittmeyer; her daughter, Alyssa Friesen, and son-in-law, Jacob Friesen; and her cherished grandchildren, Leif and Greer Friesen. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia John, and her brother, Roger John, along with many other beloved family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis John, and her grandparents.
Tina will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, her deep devotion to her family, and her servant’s heart. She loved crafting, riding horses, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful hostess who made everyone who entered her home feel welcome. Tina joyfully served wherever the church needed her—especially during Vacation Bible School—and was a light to many. She will be deeply missed.
A service to celebrate Tina’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cross Timbers Church in Edmond, Oklahoma, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.
