Traci Bryn Edwards

1965-2018

Traci Bryn McNerney Edwards went to the arms of her savior Jesus Christ on July 12, 2018 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She was born to John and Judy McNerney on January 25, 1965 at the Edmond Hospital in downtown Edmond above the Bronco Theater. Traci was a lively child and full of imagination. She loved cats, dogs, and horses. There was never an animal with which she couldn't make friends. She was her daddy's shadow. She learned about sports, especially OU football and fishing from him. She learned at an early age the correct way to score a softball game, so at the age of 12 she was asked to keep score at the men's games held in the summertime.

Traci's love of music was strengthened by her learning to read and play music. Singing came naturally to her. She was selected to be in the Show Choir at Edmond Memorial High School in the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades.

After graduation, she married Charles Allen (Chip) Black. They had a little girl, Nicole Dawn Black, who passed away a few days after birth. Then she had Christen Annette Black who survives her. Later, Traci had Megan who only lived a few hours.

After her marriage was dissolved, she met and married Donald Bruce Jordan. They had two sons, Robert Bruce Jordan and Matthew Ray Jordan who also survive her. She became a full-time mom and housewife until their marriage was dissolved.

Traci went to work for Lowe's in Edmond. She was having some health issues, and this is when she was diagnosed with Lupus. She met and married Randy Edwards. During their marriage, she was having times of great depression. She was diagnosed as manic depressive and bipolar. This marriage was dissolved also.

Traci would battle with her SLE Lupus and bipolar depression with the help of specialists and medication til the day she died. BUT she had the saving grace and mercy of her savior Jesus Christ to sustain her. Her favorite scripture was "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Her church family lifted her up many times. Her special pastor, choir director and friend, Keith Haygood, was her spiritual advisor. We know today she is singing in the heavenly choir…. Rejoice, rejoice, holy, holy is He!

She was preceded in death by children, Nicole and Megan, paternal grandmother, Theresa Popkin, maternal grandparents, Esther Smalley and Orville and Olive Jantzen.

She is survived by children, Christen Hansen, grandchildren, Cameron, Amberly, and Carter; son, Robert and wife Samantha Jordan, grandchildren, Wyatt and Briar; son Matthew and granddaughter Elena Jordan, her parents, John and Judy McNerney; sister, Jana and husband Jeff Petty, nieces, Jessica Petty, Ashley and husband Branden Moore, and Rebecca Petty, aunt, Terri Powell, uncle, Dwight and aunt Patricia Jantzen of Maryland, and numerous cousins also.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Edmond, OK.
