Valeta Ruth Dome, 89, was born on September 28, 1926 in Comanche, OK Indian Territory to Ernest and Clemie Dome. She passed away on July 22, 2016 in Edmond, OK. Valeta was retired U.S. Department of State Foreign Services and a member of First Baptist Church and International Outreach.

Valeta is survived by her son, Jeffrey Ross Prather and wife Rachel Faith Prather and one grandchild Yang Qi. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Martha Sue Dome and Gracia Bowen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, Edmond, OK with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church 1300 E 33rd St, Edmond, OK 73013.
