Victor "Denny" Dennis Davis
1944 – 2022
Victor Dennis Davis was born January 8, 1944. He married Patricia J. Davis on November 30, 1962 and had one son, Victor Dennis Davis Jr.
Denny went to Carrollton high school and furthered his education with BNSF in engineering. Denny was from a big family and had lots of fun with his sister Shirley and brothers Wesley, Roger, Ben, John, Kenny, Steve, and Howard while growing up on the farm in Carrollton. As a young man Denny had numerous jobs such as farming, Banner Biscuit Company, and Banquet foods. He also enjoyed numerous activities such as hunting and fishing.
On April 1, 1974 Denny started a career with Santa Fe Railroad now, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Denny was promoted to several positions in upper management and spent the last 15 years of his career in Fort Worth, Texas in the track measurement engineering department. Denny loved the railroad and continued his career for 35 years. Denny was promoted and was transferred numerous times to different parts of the country while traveling from Chicago to California flying and riding trains and he loved every minute of it. People asked Denny if he was going to retire and travel, and his answer was "Railroaders retire and stay home as he traveled all of his life." He did love going on cruises and having lots of fun. He retired in January 2009. After retirement, Denny turned his skills to woodworking.
Denny and Patricia moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in January 2011 to be near their son and daughter-in-law Denny Jr and Trish. Denny loved his family and their little dog. He took his little dog for a golf cart ride daily and enjoyed every minute of it. Denny and Pat loved each other dearly and you never saw one without the other. Denny was so proud of his son Denny Jr. who also works for BNSF railroad, and their daughter-in-law Trish. Denny was a great storyteller and such a joy be around.
The highlight of his life was while in vacation in Maui, Hawaii he got to visit and spar with Muhammed Ali.
Victor is preceded in death by Victoria Denise Davis (infant daughter), his parents Warren and Gladys Davis, Parent in law's Eugene and Della Shields, brother Wesley Davis, sister Shirley Dysart, brother-in-law Merle L Shields, and in laws, nieces, and nephews.
Denny knew the Lord and was a member of the Cathedral of the Hills Assembly of God church in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Denny will be cremated and laid to rest at Gracelawn Cemetery at a later date.
