Wallace Daniel Arensmeier

1927-2024

In loving memory of Wallace Arensmeier, age 96, who passed away at home in Edmond, Oklahoma on 10/10/2024 in the care of his family and Mercy Hospice. Wallace was born on 11/3/1927 in New Salem, North Dakota. He was beloved andcherished son of Joseph and Bertha Arensmeier.

Wallace was raised on a farm 40 miles northwest of Bismarck, North Dakota, where he and his family grew crops, planted an apple orchard, and raised farm animals to make a living. When Wallace was still a young man, his father left for Missouri to have hernia surgery and stay with relatives there, to recover. While Joe was in Missouri, his relatives shared the Good News of God's Word with him and he became a Christian. Joe's newly transformed life and character so impressed Wallace that he too, was inspired to study the bible and commit his life to God. They joined a nearby church and helped build a new church building in Bismarck. Wallace was devoted to God and shared the Good News actively. This is how he met his future wife, Dorothy Wandrey, and her parents, Walter and Louise.

Wallace and Dorothy added a dairy operation to the family farm, where they also raised  their twin children; Mark and Mary. When the twins graduated high school, they moved their family to Searcy, Arkansas to raise rabbits and to watch their children go off to college.

Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Wallace is survived by his daughter, Mary Young of Edmond, Oklahoma, and son, Mark Arensmeier of Geneva Illinois. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
