Warren Ray Graham, “Ray” was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma on July 10, 1939, and passed on November 19, 2025. He was 86 years old. “Coach Graham” as he was lovingly known by his Wichita, Kansas high school track and cross-country runners, was not just their coach but a friend, mentor, and teacher of physical education. For many years he and his runners trained before the fall season while adventuring across Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming by bicycle.

Ray was happiest with a hammer or chainsaw in his hands. A prolific builder, he enjoyed anything and everything connected with construction. He took great pride in helping friends, family and strangers alike with their “projects.” No task was ever too big or too complicated, and Ray’s can-do work ethic is best summarized by his favorite saying: “I don’t have to, I GET to.” In later years, he and his wife Sherry joined his nephew in business with the Department of Environmental Quality. In 2021 Ray was inducted into the Wichita West High Athletic Hall of Fame.

Ray is survived by his spouse Sherry Graham of Edmond, Oklahoma, daughter Brenda Karras of Gunnison, Colorado, step-son Christopher Jones of Flagstaff, Arizona, step-daughter Angela Jones of the United Kingdom, and grandchildren Kailena Karras, Jonas Graham, Sawyer Comnick-Jones, Jacob Boyer, and Hayes Jones.

Preceding Ray in death were his parents James and Evelyn Graham, his son, Bryan Graham and his brothers Harold Graham, Jerold Graham, and Clement Graham.

Ray wished to be cremated. There will be no funeral services at this time.
