William Anthony Junk finished his race and received his crown of glory on February 25, 2026.
He was born on February 22, 1961, to Leo and Mildred Junk in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is the youngest of six children. He is preceded in death by both his parents and his oldest sister, Constance Hollins. He is survived by his wife, Stacy Junk, and his children, Jordan and Nicole Junk, Madison Junk, Aubrey Junk, and Anna Junk, and his grandchildren Leo, Miles, and Wade. He is also survived by his remaining siblings, Leo James Junk and wife LaRita, Robert David Junk and wife Anne, Rebecca Ann Taron and husband Tommy Taron, Thomas Michael Junk and his wife Kelly, along with many nephews and nieces.
His family was the delight of his life. He loved to travel and spend time in his garden.
He attended St. Benedict Catholic School, a mighty Raven, through 6th grade. He then attended the Shawnee Public Schools and graduated in 1979 from Shawnee High School. He then went on to the University of Oklahoma earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting. There were a few short stops along the way but spent most of his career (35 years) with the Oklahoma Methodist Foundation. Seventeen years as President. He often said that God put him in that position to make a difference in people’s lives that were hurt, suffering, and struggling in daily life. His dearest accomplishment was investing in villages in the Democratic Republic of Congo by providing water wells where the people for the first time in their lives had safe access to clean water.
Bill retired from his work in May of 2023.
Bill loved his church, New Covenant Church of Edmond, and provided many forms of leadership to his congregation.
Bill and his family requested that all memorial gifts be sent to The Junk Family Endowment at The Oklahoma Methodist Foundation, 4201 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73118. This endowment benefits New Covenant Church of Edmond; the church Bill loved.
He also said to add an extra zero to your usual memorial gift.
