Wilma Dell Cooper

1945-2020

Wilma Dell Cooper 74 of Edmond, Oklahoma died on June 25, 2020 from two very rare neurological conditions.  She was the second daughter born to Wesley (Ike) and Marie Bottoms at Checotah, Oklahoma on August 26, 1945.  She grew up in Onapa and Talihina, Oklahoma, graduated high school at Talihina and went on to complete her BS in Business Administration Education at Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Wilma began her 45 year purchasing career with General Electric in Oklahoma City during February of 1969.  Throughout her long career she worked for GE, Honeywell, CCI Life Systems, Organon Teknika, Cobe Laboratories, Sorb Technology and Fresenius Kidney Care.  She retired in 2015 as a Director of Operations.  Wilma was the most dedicated employee for all her employers and had a strong work ethic second to none.  She was a longtime member of the OKC National Purchasing Association and enjoyed attending all the various gatherings with guest speakers.

Her faith in God directed her life.  She loved a good laugh and family and friends mattered most to her.  Wilma loved to give wrapped gifts to others, especially all the children in her family during holidays and on their birthdays.  She was a very devoted mother-thoughtful and caring.  She played basketball in high school and was the OKC Thunders number one fan.

Wilma is preceded in death by parents Wesley (Ike) and Marie Bottoms also by her younger sister June Taylor.  She is survived by son Jess Cooper of Edmond, sister Margie Stermer of Warr Acres and many other loving and caring family members.  It is truly hard to put into words just how much she will be missed by her loving family and many incredible friends.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held Monday, June 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
