Zaddie Ruth Young

1920-2018

Our amazing Mom, Zaddie Ruth Young, 98, has been reunited with our Dad as he walks her through the gates of her Heavenly home. She was our treasure and we were her greatest love. We were blessed by her generosity and her abiding faith in Christ. Although she was not able to attend church the last few years she was a long-time member of Edmond's First Baptist Church and cherished her church family. Her birthday and holiday dinners were extraordinary and there was always an extra plate or two at the table. She was an avid gardener who always had the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood and who could forget those amazing tomatoes and vegetables that were generously shared with friends and family? She made beautiful quilts for all of our family members. We loved her very much and she will be forever missed. Mom was born on July 29, 1920 in Frogville, OK. Mom married John William Young and enjoyed 61 years of marriage until his death in 2000. Mom was preceded in death by her son Roy, her grandson Douglas John, daughter Dori Young, son-in-law Tom Brownlee, parents James Thomas and Ida Isabell King, six sisters and one brother. She is survived by daughters Ruth Glasgow and husband, Richard, of Oklahoma City and Faye Brownlee of Edmond. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Anita Rogers and wife, Gina Pipestem, of Newalla, James Leichter and wife, Susan, of Kansas, Sean Brownlee and wife, Kimberli, of Edmond, Page Line and husband, Donnie, of Grand Lake and CeCe Harned and husband, Reed, of Destin, Florida. She was blessed with 8 great-grandchildren, Kyle Brownlee, Mianna Brownlee, Jessica Leichter, Jordon Leichter, Kahle Harned, Corey Harned, Court Harned, Cage Harned and many nieces and nephews. Our family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Integrity Senior Care and Physician's Choice Hospice for their loving care of our mom. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 9, at 11am followed by a lunch reception at 12pm at Edmond's First Baptist Church, 1300 E. 33rd, Edmond.
